Security
Built to protect credentials
HookQ keeps connected apps’ OAuth tokens on the server. Agents authenticate with a scoped, revocable HookQ API key.
Encrypted at rest
OAuth tokens are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. API keys are stored only as SHA-256 hashes — the raw key is shown once and never persisted.
Per-request decryption
Tokens are decrypted only in memory, only when executing an action you asked for.
Tenant isolation
Every action is scoped to the authenticated account. Connections and keys never cross accounts.
Safe by default
Agent keys have explicit action permissions and expiry. Write actions require a confirmation flag supplied by the caller.
